Who are we in our journey of discipleship?  Are we seeking to prove ourselves so that God might have more favor on us, like the bickering disciples seem to do almost incessently?  Or are we like blind Bartimaeus, thankful to God each day, and just asking for mercy in whatever form that God gives?  Do we accept God’s grace humbly, or try and control it like we do everything else in our lives?
